Police Car Burned After Responding To "Neighborhood Problems" In Carmelo, Colonia

A police car was set on fire after being called to respond to "neighborhood problems" in the city of Carmelo in Uruguay's Colonia department. According to Colonia Police Chief Jhonny Diego:

Los vecinos llamaron para pedir protección. Cuando bajaron del auto e intentaban dialogar con los vecinos, apareció una persona que roció con combustible la patrulla y la prendió fuego

Two men were detained by police, and firefighters managed to extinguish the burning patrol car.
